The Frente Amplio will hold its closing ceremony in Montevideo, at 7:00 p.m., in Parque Batlle. The main stage will be located in front of the Velodrome, with entry from the Centenario Stadium. The formula made up of Yamandú Orsi and Carolina Cosse will be in charge of addressing those present, accompanied by the performance of Ruben Rada and the band La Deskarga. The event, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, was brought forward to avoid coinciding with Peñarol’s match for the Copa Libertadores de América.
For its part, the National Party will close its campaign in Las Piedras, Canelones, at 7:30 p.m. on Avenida Artigas. Like Luis Lacalle Pou in 2019, candidate Álvaro Delgado, along with his running mate Valeria Ripoll, will be the main speaker. Last Sunday, the National Party had already held a closing event in Montevideo, with a caravan and party at the Punta Carretas lighthouse, where the singer Lucas Sugo performed.
Meanwhile, the Colorado Party will not have a campaign closing event as such. Its formula, made up of Andrés Ojeda and Robert Silva, held its central event last Saturday in Montevideo, at the Montevideo Music Box concert hall.
The campaign commands of the different parties have focused their efforts in recent weeks on strengthening their support base and capturing the vote of the undecided. All polls agree that the election will be decided in the second round, with Yamandú Orsi leading the preferences, followed by Álvaro Delgado. However, the sustained growth of Andrés Ojeda also stands out, which keeps the main actors expectant for next Sunday.
