The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) informed citizens that it will proceed to partially close the intersection of República de Colombia and Jacobo Majluta avenues, with the aim of beginning the construction of a new overpass in that area.
According to the MOPC, the closure will come into force as of this Sunday, March 1, for which a temporary traffic detour will be enabled in the vicinity of the intervened area.
According to a note from the entity’s Communications and Press Directorate, this measure is intended to make traffic viable and avoid traffic congestion while the work is carried out.
The new overpass on these two important roads in the capital is aimed at improving mobility, reducing traffic congestion and increasing road safety in one of the busiest points in the sector.
The Ministry of Public Works also reported that the detour will be duly signposted and will have control and orientation devices to facilitate vehicular flow. It is estimated that this provisional configuration will remain active for several months, as the different stages of the project progress.
The MOPC urges drivers to use alternate routes when possible, respect traffic signs and follow the instructions of authorized personnel, as well as to leave with additional time to avoid delays.
The institution apologizes to citizens and users of these roads for the temporary inconveniences that this intervention may generate and appreciates the understanding and collaboration of citizens.
