SLP, Mexico.- A part of the building of the Higher Institute of Design (ISDI) of Havana He collapsed this Friday, as it transpired on social networks of neighbors and journalists Cuban officials.

According to the information collected, firefighters went to the place and no victims are reported because of the collapse of the property.

The Higher Design Institute (former Higher Institute of Industrial Design) was inaugurated in its current headquarters, a colonial building built in 1860.
This property was originally a military hotel and officers club and only had two floors. Between 1874 and 1878, it was a cadet school. After 1878, he was asylum of widows and orphans of the Spanish officers killed in the Ten Years War.
During the first American occupation of Cuba (1898-1902), the building served as the headquarters of the General Staff of the Occupation Troops. Since 1913, he hosted the Ministry of Health and Benefit.
For its part, the third floor of the building was built in the 1930s. Later, in 1940, it became the headquarters of the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance.
Between 1965 and 1982, the building served as the headquarters of several educational institutions. In 1982, it became the headquarters of the Polytechnic Institute for Industrial Design (IPDI) and, finally, on May 28, 1984, it was established as the Higher Institute of Industrial Design.
