Parliamentarians from different benches such as Norma Yarrow (Avanza País), Ruth Luque (Democratic Change) and Héctor Acuña Peralta (Alliance for Progress) congratulated Liz Benavides for her election as the new Prosecutor of the Nation.
In their social networks, the legislators agreed that the new head of the Public Ministry should show qualities in the fight against corruption.
“My greetings to the appointment of the new Prosecutor of the Nation. A woman assumes important responsibility of directing the Public Ministry. That its management guarantees objectivity, firmness against corruption and impunity, in addition, a gender approach is guaranteed to combat violence against women”, Luke said.
“In the hands of a woman lies the responsibility of the Attorney General’s Office. That she act in accordance with the Law and firmly in the face of so many acts of corruption by this Government. Dr. Patricia Benavides, Peru awaits your correct action”Yarrow wrote.
“I salute the election of Dr. Liz Benavides Vargas as Prosecutor of the Nation. The difficult situation will test his competence and firmness in directing the Office of the Prosecutor along the path of institutional independence and the fight against corruption”, Acuña Peralta wrote.
It should be noted that Benavides Vargas must continue with the investigation against President Pedro Castillo for the alleged crime of criminal organization. For this case, the head of state declared last Friday.
