National Assembly (NA) deputy Tania Díaz reported that the Venezuelan parliament will organize a series of seminars aimed at collecting anti-fascist proposals to take them to different world scenarios. This was stated during her participation in the seminar “Fascism as a political reality in Venezuela”, organized by the NA that took place in the Plenary Hall of Parque Central in Caracas, this Friday.
Regarding the seminar, Díaz explained that this activity is part of the preparations for the organization of the National Antifascist Front, and the creation of the Committee of Victims of Fascism. Another objective of the National Meeting is to unify the proposals to confront fascism, and present them to the world.
Representative Díaz was in charge of the seminar’s installation, and among the speakers was the Vice President of the Legislative Branch, Representative Pedro Infante, who spoke about the policies and strategies of the National Government against fascism.
Díaz explained that after the elections of July 28, fascist expressions and actions were observed and that the brave people stopped fascism once again.
The event was also attended by the director of the Institute of Diplomatic Studies “Pedro Gual”, Pedro Sassone, who analyzed the reality and the continued coup d’état and offered his vision on fascism as a political practice of the Venezuelan right. Sassone suggested that the academy should go out to meet the people, to dialogue about concepts and pointed out that, when one is in the eye of the storm, the formula should be the meeting of the community to defeat fascism.
