The bill empowers the Executive Branch to determine the providers of comprehensive health care to which members of the Casa de Galicia institution, who are beneficiaries of the National Health Insurance, will be assigned, within a maximum period of 15 business days from the entry into force of the Law, which passed to the Executive for its promulgation.
The determination of health providers will be made among those “eligible institutions in accordance with the list and criteria of universal coverage, accessibility, and sustainability of health services, efficiency in economic and social terms, and the rational use of resources. human, material, financial and the health capacity installed and to be installed”.
Likewise, it is provided that the Ministry of Public Health will carry out the “selection” of health providers based on objective criteria and characteristics, such as: “the list of users may not exceed 100,000 members, it may not be composed of more of 20% of its total number of people over 65 years of age, the increase in the number of users may not exceed 15% of the total registry on the date the law enters into force, comprehensive health care providers must have their headquarters primary or secondary in the cities of Montevideo, La Paz or Las Piedras”.
