This Saturday, October 10, Peruvian Cristhian Pacheco will compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the men’s marathon event, which will start at 1:00 am (Peruvian time).

The competition will take place at the Trocadero Square, a perfect setting with a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower. Pacheco is coming into the race as the current two-time champion of the Pan American Games and his best time in the marathon is 2:07:38, recorded in February of last year.
The main references in this event are Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge, who is seeking his third consecutive Olympic title, and Benson Kipruto, world number one and with 2:02:16 the fastest of the year.

Of the 26 athletes who travelled, one bronze medal has been won so far, after decades, thanks to Stefano Peschiera in sailing. In addition, the team has achieved five Olympic diplomas, Evelyn Inga in race walking, María Belén Bazo in sailing, Alonso Correa in surfing, Nicolás Pacheco in shooting and the duo of Kimberly García and César Rodríguez in race walking relay.
