The community in southern Huila is in shock following the tragic death of Jhon F., a boy of just 9 years old. The child was found dead by his parents in the nursing home, located in the municipality of Isnos, in the La Florida area.

The unfortunate discovery occurred when the child’s mother and stepfather returned from an errand in the urban area of Isnos. Upon arriving home, they found the tragic scene of the lifeless child. According to initial reports, the child had died of asphyxiation. This fact has left the community and the authorities in a state of uncertainty, trying to understand the circumstances surrounding this painful case.
Despite the efforts of his family to save him, he was transferred to the ESE San José in the municipality, where doctors reported that Jhon F. arrived without vital signs. This fact has added a level of pain and sadness for the family and the community in general.
Local authorities are working to determine whether someone was involved in the boy’s death or whether he made the fatal decision himself.
Neighbor allegedly punished the child
However, according to the testimony of Jhon Jairo, the boy’s stepfather, to a local media outlet, a neighbor allegedly punished the boy because he had apparently been mischievous. “I went out with my wife to the town and the boy stayed at home getting ready to go to church. When we were in the gallery, a neighbor came and told me we punished Jhon Fredy; I replied that if I had hit him, he was going to get into serious trouble with the law. A neighbor took me on her motorcycle to the house and, upon entering, I found a shocking scene. I desperately asked for help and took him to the doctor, where he arrived without vital signs,” he said.
Finally, they are awaiting the results of the investigations to understand the causes of this tragedy that has plunged a family from Huila into mourning.
