The Paraná Environmental Technology and Monitoring System (Simepar) confirmed this Monday (10) that at least three tornadoes hit the interior of the state during the storms recorded last Friday (7).
“The analyzes began shortly after the incident, with the study of radar data and the first photos and videos taken by rescue teams in the municipality and sent by civil defense,” informed Simepar.

In addition to Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, which recorded a category F3 tornado on the Fujita scale, the municipalities of Turvo and Guarapoava also recorded the phenomenon, both in category F2.
According to Simepar, in Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, winds reached 330 kilometers per hour (km/h), the top of the F3 category. In Turvo, winds were estimated between 180 km/h and 200 km/h, and in Turvo, greater than 200 km/h.
“In addition to the three tornadoes already confirmed, the team continues to carry out studies and analyzes of other suspicious occurrences”, added the agency.
