The Paraguayan shooters Elena and Osvaldo Farrés stood out with a brilliant performance in the Argentine National Shooting Championship in the Olympic Pit & Skeet “Homage to Don Olegario Farrés” modalities.
The best shooters from Argentina, in addition to competitors from Colombia, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia and Brazil, gave it the character of a high-level international event.
The event took place at the Club de Cazadores de Santiago del Estero and it summoned approximately 100 competitors who for 3 days sought to get on the podium.
Elena Farrés, granddaughter of the remembered Don Olegario, like Osvaldo, left the Paraguayan shot high after shining in this international competition.
Elena made history as she won this first date of the Argentine National Shooting Championship and also took first place in the international class, becoming the first Paraguayan to compete and win in this event.
On the other hand, in mixed, Elena together with Osvaldo Farrés stayed with an honorable second place, while in the international they were also the winners in an unprecedented event for the Paraguayan shot.
The event, we remember, was in homage to Don Olegario Farrés as an outstanding shooter, leader and promoter of the sport of shooting in Paraguay, as well as for his son José, both of whom died recently.
