Paraguayans are located in the canoeing semifinal

During the second day of the Odesur ASU 2022 Games that takes place in the Piracema Park, the Paraguayan representatives in the slalom canoeing competition in the K1 and C1 modalities, Ana Paula Fernández and Leonardo Lucas Curcel, qualified for the semifinals that are scheduled for this Friday, October 14.

The Paraguayan Ana Paula Fernández qualified with the third fastest time in the K1 – women’s canoe slalom competition, with a record of 2:02.88 minutes behind the Brazilian Omira María Estacia Neta who did a time of 1:32.85 minutes and the Argentine María Luz Cassini with a mark of 1:48.89 minutes. In fourth place in the classification was the Chilean Florencia Isidora Aguirre González with 2:04.31 minutes, while the Peruvian Lenny Carmen Ramírez Bustillos qualified with a time of 3:20.25 minutes. The representative of Venezuela, Marianna Andrea Torres Briceño, was disqualified.

In the women’s canoe slalom C1 modality, Paraguayan Fernandez also qualified with the third fastest time with 2:44.56 minutes, trailing Brazilian Ana Satila Vieira Vargas 1:39.86, who qualified first, and Argentine Iris Nerea Castiglione, who He obtained a mark of 2:12.42 minutes.

For his part, the other compatriot representative, Leonardo Lucas Curcel, obtained the second fastest time in the C1 – male canoe slalom classification tests, with a time of 1:39.64 minutes, only behind the Argentine Sebastián Maximiliano Rossi who obtained the first place with 1:35.54 minutes. In third place was the Brazilian Kaua Luiz Amaral Da Silva, with a time of 1:33.46 minutes; Venezuelan José Calasanza Silva Nava placed fourth with a record of 1:55.59 minutes, and Geral Soto Eldredge from Chile, fifth, with 2:58.45.

In the K1 – male canoe slalom modality, the Paraguayan Curcel qualified for the semifinal with a time of 107.73, placing fifth. In the qualifying tests, the first place went to the Brazilian Pedro Henrique Goncalves with a total of 80.42 points, followed by the Argentine Lucas Ignacio Rossi with 83.77; Venezuelan Alexis Pérez Rincón was third with a record of 93.59; fourth was Andraz Alejandro Echeverria from Chile with a mark of 93.89 points. In sixth place was Eriberto Gutiérrez Robles from Peru, already disqualified.

The semifinals for both men and women in the C1 modalities will be played on Friday from 9:45 at the Parque Piracema circuit; while the K1 finals, both male and female, will start at 2:15 p.m. The awards will be at 3:00 p.m., which will conclude the competition that began on Wednesday the 12th.
