THE Former director of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) Silvinei Vasques is already in custody of the Federal Police (PF). 
Around 8pm, the former director was taken by the Paraguayan police to the border with Brazil and handed over to PF agents at Ponte da Amizadewhich connects Foz do Iguaçu, in Paraná, to Ciudad del Leste. He should be transferred to Brasília in the next few hours.
Sentenced to 24 years and 6 months in prison in the criminal action of Core 2 of the coup plot, the former director was serving house arrest, but broke his electronic ankle bracelet and fled to the neighboring country to avoid serving his sentence. The escape occurred in the early hours of Christmas.
After being informed about the escape, the Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), ordered preventive detention of the former director.
According to the PF, the ankle bracelet stopped emitting a GPS signal around 3 am on Thursday (25). Agents then went to the former director’s apartment, located in São José (SC), and found that he was not at home.
After checking the building’s camera system, agents concluded that he was in the apartment until 7:22 pm on Christmas Eve, Wednesday (24).
CCTV footage showed Vasques placing bags in the boot of a car. He was wearing black sweatpants, a gray t-shirt and a black cap.
He also took a Pitbull dog, food and sanitary mats during his escape.
