“We pay a well-deserved tribute to who in life was a brave man of law who, from his functions of service to society, dealt the greatest blow to organized crime in recent times in the history of my country,” said the Paraguayan ambassador in Italy, Roberto Melgarejo Palacios.
It was during the ceremony held this morning in Rome, where the meeting room of the embassy was inaugurated, under the name of Prosecutor Marcelo Pecci.
Melgarejo highlighted Pecci as an exemplary citizen, who put his skills and vocation at the service of the country, but who, unfortunately, paid the highest price for confronting the powers that be.
The ambassador recalled that Marcelo Pecci’s Italian origins make his figure even more representative in the union of the peoples of Italy and Paraguay.
