The Paraguayan team, which includes Karina Centurión from Club Deportivo Puerto Saxony, achieved first place, obtaining gold for the Paraguayan team in the first edition of the America’s Coastal Rowing Cup.
The event is organized by the Lima Regatta Club in coordination with the Peruvian Rowing Federation (FPR) and supervised by the International Federation of Rowing Societies (World Rowing). The competition has the participation of more than a hundred rowers from 11 countries and takes place in the modalities of Beach Sprint, Coastal Rowing (Coastal Rowing) and Endurance (Resistance).
For the Endurance test, the race course has been set up from La Punta, Callao, to Chorrillos. It covers a distance of 23 kilometers and is one of the most unique tests held in Peru.
The competition runs until April 23 and the representatives of Ecuador, the United States, Paraguay, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Bahamas, Barbados, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and, of course, Peru, will seek to obtain first place, both in the male and female categories as in the mixed.
It should be noted that, in 2015, Peru already hosted the Coastal Rowing World Championship, which was held with great success and allowed the International Federation of the specialty to grant the confidence to once again hold a competition of this level.
