The lack of preparation in specific skills to enter the labor market is a barrier that young people in rural areas face when seeking employment. This is one of the fronts that the German-Paraguayan Chamber of Commerce and Industry addresses with Actualízate 2.0, a project that seeks to reduce this disadvantage and that will offer new training to 30 representatives from six technical colleges in the interior.
For five years, the Paraguayan-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) has been implementing courses, workshops and projects in the field of vocational training. This 2022 is no exception. On January 13, it presented Actualízate 2.0, which aims to provide professional opportunities to young women and men in rural areas to reduce their disadvantages in the labor market through instruction in current specific skills required by the productive sector.
In this context, between this Monday, February 28 and Saturday, March 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Hotel Guaraní (Oliva esq. Independencia Nacional) will be the meeting point for a training in quality management system ISO 9001: 2015 standard and internal audit, which will receive representatives from six technical schools in the interior of the country: the Chaco Home and Nutrition Training Center, the María Auxiliadora School in Minga Guazú, the Caacupé Technical School in Villa Serrana, the San Francisco de Asís de Cerrito, the Juan XXIII de Pilar Technical College and the San Isidro Labrador Agroecological Educational Center in San Ignacio, Misiones.
The project will have an execution time of 6 months and includes training in ISO9001:2015 and internal auditing. The training will be carried out in person with a workload of up to 40 hours and is aimed at students, directors, teachers and administrators of technical educational institutions in the interior of the country.
With these meetings, the AHK seeks to generate an impact on the benefits of having an ISO certification (until now no educational institution has a quality certification) and improve technical education in order to prepare young people for working life. ensuring skilled labor for the private sector.
Upon completion, the project will have a follow-up of approximately 12 months to generate a best practice. It is also planned to create a specialized advisory service for schools and businesses in rural areas in order to ensure long-term migration from the countryside to the city through high-quality training adapted to the private sector. This is an excellent opportunity for this segment of the population to access training that guarantees decent employment and, on the other hand, avoid the centralization of skilled labor by providing the business sector with more human resources.
