Paraguay, through the Minister of Tourism, Sofía Montiel, participated in the II Ibero-American Gastronomic Congress, within the framework of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur). On the occasion, she highlighted that national gastronomic tourism today shows its most resilient face.
“Opportunities of Gastronomic Tourism in the Ibero-American Region”, was the topic addressed by High Authorities of Ibero-American tourism.
During her speech at the discussion, Minister Montiel affirmed that Paraguay’s gastronomic tourism sector today shows its most resilient face.
“Rural women and young people are the great actors of the recovery. Talking about gastronomy is talking about the essence of our country, Paraguay,” she said.
In addition to the head of Tourism of Paraguay, participated; the Secretary for Cooperation-Segib, Lorena Larios Rodriguez; María Reyes Maroto, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Spain; Jordi Torres Falcó, Minister of Tourism and Telecommunications of the Government of Andorra; Yanina Martínez, Vice Minister of Tourism of Argentina; Miguel Torruco Marqués, Secretary of Tourism of Mexico; and Niels Olsen, Minister of Tourism of Ecuador.
Paraguay, through Senatur, is currently working on strategic alliances with gastronomic academies and schools, as well as chef associations, the private sector and local producers to strengthen and make local gastronomy visible.
