The Special Report 301 of the Department of Commerce of the Government of the United States, placed Paraguay on the “list of countries on watch” on the fight against counterfeit products.
According to information from Radio 1000, the US authorities divide their document into two categories based on the seriousness of the country’s situation in terms of illegal access to protected content.
The category in which Paraguay is included along with 19 other countries in the year 2022, is called the “Watch List”, in which the countries are mentioned in which, in the opinion of the USTR, the guarantees of property protection intellectual must be strengthened.
The inter-institutional work has achieved significant progress, such as the crossing of intelligence data that allowed obtaining effective information in real time, achieving greater scope at the time of verifications in port areas, said the media.
