In a ceremony held days ago at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of Paraguay to the United Nations, in New York, the national foreign minister conferred the decoration of the National Order of Merit “Don José Falcón” on Alya Ahmed Saif Al-Thani and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, permanent representatives of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to the UN, respectively.
The distinction was awarded to both diplomats for their contribution to obtaining vaccines against COVID-19 for Paraguay during the health crisis caused by the pandemic.
Arriola highlighted the cooperation and help provided by the Government of Qatar “in extremely difficult times”, being a clear sign of the solidarity of its people.
In the same terms, he also highlighted the great solidarity of the Government of the United Arab Emirates, which managed the provision of vaccines, equipment and medical supplies to combat the pandemic in our country.
Both Alya Ahmed Saif Al-Thani and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh thanked the Paraguayan government for the gesture through this award, highlighting the bonds of friendship and cooperation that bind them to the countries they represent.
