Paraguay country of opportunities, present at the 43rd edition of FITUR

The International Tourism Fair of Madrid was inaugurated on Wednesday, January 18, at IFEMA, a venue located in the epicenter of the Iberian Peninsula, where in more than 200,000 square meters it once again received 755 exhibitors seeking to expose the cultural, gastronomic and tourist offer of its various countries. This is the 43rd edition of the fair, which reopened its doors since 2020, the year the pandemic broke out due to COVID-19 and tourism came to a standstill.

With an innovative and attractive stand, Paraguay sells itself to the world as a developing destination and epicenter of companies seeking to plant a flag in the region. Adventure tourism and contact with nature are some of the attractions that Paraguay offers at FITUR, as well as its wide and varied gastronomic offer, festivals, customs and traditions, the Misiones/Itapúa Jesuit Route that covers San Ignacio Guazú, San Cosme and Damián, Santa María de Fe, Santa Rosa de Lima, Santiago and Encarnación, added to these Trinidad del Paraná and Jesús de Tavarangüé, sites loaded with religiousness and symbolism, capable of catching those who wish to lose themselves in their history and mysticism, these last two universal heritage of humanity before UNESCO since 1993.

According to the Minister of Tourism, Sofía Montiel, “Paraguay aspires to be a tourist destination, but also, given its strategic geographical location, to become the HUB for companies seeking to establish a base of operations in the region,” mentions the incentive law that offered by the government for companies seeking to establish themselves in the country, and economic stability guaranteeing soundness and security for foreign investors. Natalia Bayona, Director of Innovation, Education and Investment of the World Tourism Organization highlights that “Paraguay has grown 4% per year for the last 10 years, and with the 10-10-10 incentive of VAT, income and corporate tax exemption, They commit, through the investment guide of the UNWTO, to generate investment attraction for a country that sees its wealth generation in tourism”.

Under the concept “Paraguay, land of charms” and with the purpose of promoting the tourist offer and the Madrid-Asunción direct flight route, SENATUR has an urban advertising presence through 240 and 90 advertisements in Madrid and Barcelona respectively, as well as 16 static murals in Madrid and 20 video walls in the same city, drawing the attention of passers-by for the image of the traditional Paraguayan hammock that transmits style and harmony, and that can only be experienced when one visits this Guarani land.

The history of Paraguay may be unknown, however it is rich and more interesting than what is believed. Despite the socioeconomic and political circumstances, the country is one of the most stable in the region, a reason that invites you to discover the opportunities it offers. In Paraguay, each visitor can find something that will be special to him, its tropical climate encourages relaxation, its peoples stimulate to understand its history, which goes back to the colonial past. This allows us to understand the cultural richness of the country, which has two official languages, Spanish and Guarani, as well as a young population that transmits kindness, courtesy and the feeling of being at home in every gesture.
