The commander of the 42nd Parachute Infantry Brigade “Commander Hugo Chávez”, Brigadier General Douglas Enrique Pérez Soto, issued an unrestricted support pronouncement to the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
Through a video published in the official account of the head of the CEOFANB, the senior officer reaffirmed the commitment of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) with the defense of the sovereignty and independence of the country
When referring to the recent actions of the United States government, Pérez Soto said that this measure “violates article 5 of the Constitution” and does not know the principle of non -intervention in internal affairs of other nations, a fundamental pillar of international law.
He affirmed that the mission of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces is to guarantee territorial integrity and protect the Head of State, while reiterating the firmness of the institution to ensure the stability and constitutional order of the Nation.
Then, he recalled the outstanding career of the paratrooper soldiers, referred to key moments in the history of Venezuela such as February 4, 1992 and the restitution operation of the National Unity in 2002.
Finally, the commander stressed that “imperial arrogance” will not be allowed and that “the commitment to the country knows no limits.”
