Andres Hurtado announced that he will leave television following accusations against him for alleged money laundering and influence peddling.
According to Edison Flores’ wife, Ana Siucho, the TV host and a prosecutor received $1 million for ‘releasing’ a shipment of seized gold.
“I am not going to use my program to talk about any topic or air cases. I thank my home, Panamericana Televisión, for allowing me to take a few Saturdays in response to my request.“, he said.
However, Channel 5 issued a statement on its official website and denied that Hurtado was temporarily suspended from its programming.

The well-known television host, Andrés Hurtado, is at the centre of a serious accusation of corruption and influence peddling. According to a public complaint, he allegedly requested a million-dollar bribe to arrange the return of 100 kilos of gold seized by customs authorities.
The complaint was revealed by doctor Ana Siucho on the program “Beto a Saber”, who said that her brother, Javier Miu Lei, a mining manager, requested Hurtado’s help to solve a complex money laundering case.
According to Siucho, the driver boasted of his influence and promised his help in exchange for a large sum of money.
“It is the second case in Peruvian history where the confiscated load of gold was returned. There was approximately one million dollars involved. Andrés asked for it in two parts.”Siucho said.
The complainant also claimed that Hurtado had used his brother as an intermediary to receive the payments and had even requested additional bribes, such as an “80-year-old whiskey,” which in code would mean $80,000.
Judge Elizabet Peralta, whom Hurtado called “the mother,” was allegedly a key player in this corruption scheme. According to Siucho, Peralta used her influence to obtain the return of the gold shipment. It is important to note that the judge has been linked to the criminal organization “Los Cuellos Blancos del Puerto.”
The link between Hurtado and Peralta was reportedly broken in mid-2021, when the host accused the Siucho brothers of “breaking codes” with the magistrate. However, Siucho denied this version and assured that Hurtado had invented this story to cut ties with intermediaries and negotiate directly with Miu Lei.
The Siucho brothers and their father are currently facing charges of money laundering. Iván Siucho, the complainant’s brother, is a key witness in the case against Nicanor Boluarte, brother of President Dina Boluarte.
