Panamericana Televisión informed the public about the kidnapping of the mother of Panorama reporter Iván Escudero, which occurred this afternoon in the city of Huaraz.
The act was perpetrated by two subjects, who violently blindfolded the victim and forced her into a dark lead-colored van.
During her captivity, the journalist’s mother was subjected to various intimidations and threats, including direct messages against Iván Escudero. After several minutes of anguish, the woman was released in a remote part of the city.
This deplorable act occurred shortly after Iván Escudero received anonymous messages and photographs following him and his closest relatives. In recent months, Escudero has made serious allegations of corruption against various public figures and officials.
Panamericana Televisión strongly rejects these acts of intimidation, which not only violate the security and personal and family life of one of its collaborators, but also constitute a serious attack on press freedom.
