Panamanians stand out in Pan American Paracycling in Brazil

The Panamanians Esteban Goddard, Geovanni Ibarra and their coach Javier Barrios stood out today in the first test of the Pan American Para-cycling held in Maringá, Brazil.

Geovanni Ibarra together with his pilot Javier Barrios achieved sixth place in his first time trial competition with a distance of 20 km, being 5 minutes away from first place in the MB Tandem category.

In turn, Esteban Goddard achieved ninth place out of 18 competitors in his MC2 Paracycling category.

The Panamanians are preparing for their second test tomorrow where Geovanni Ibarra and his pilot Javier Barrios will complete a 96km route. Esteban Goddar will carry out a 61 KM route.

“The competitive level is high and this competition allows us to prepare for everything that follows in the Olympic cycle towards Francis 2024,” said coach and cyclist Javier Barrios.

This competition will give UCI points and points to be able to participate in upcoming competitions in Santiago de Chile and the Paris 2024 Paralympic Olympics.
