The Social Security Fund (CSS) has received a positive response at the National Medical Congress from Panamanian doctors and international specialists, assured Enrique Lau Cortés, director of the entity, noting that the benefit of academic exchange has been achieved. with international professors from Mexico, Colombia and the United States.
According to Lau Cortés, this congress has been beneficial for medical professionals, since it reflects a success and a triumph between doing and simply being a spectator.
Regarding the vision that international specialists have expressed regarding the management of the pandemic in Panama, the Director General highlighted that “we have the opportunity to see how they see us from the outside and Panamanians are very critical, sometimes we do not value the things that we have, but listening to these specialists express themselves well and praising the way our country faced the pandemic comforts us.”
He also said that during the pandemic, the country under the leadership of President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen and a whole group of experts, carried out work based on scientific evidence, because at no time “did we allow politics to intervene in the decisions that had to be made The most important thing is that together we were able to face this pandemic and be where we are now, facing the sixth wave with knowledge and not with so much fear.
