With the choice of Kristine Jiménez (Judo) and Jean Carlos González (Surf) as the flag bearers, the Panamanian athletes are now ready for their participation in the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Sports Games San Salvador 2023 that will take place on June 23 to July 8 with a sub-office in the Dominican Republic.
The National Pavilion was delivered by the Director of Pandeportes, Luis Denis Arce, to highlight that the sports institution that runs the national sport contributed a total of B/195,062.00 for the participation of Panama in these games.
The delegation of Panama will participate with 146 athletes in 22 sports that are:
Fencing, Wrestling, Beach Soccer, Athletics, Swimming, Shooting, Surfing, Gymnastics, Bowling, Boxing, Cycling, Weightlifting, Chess, Karate, Archery, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Judo, Equestrian, Tennis, Golf, Triathlon.
In team sports Panama will only be represented by beach soccer, the rest are all individual sports.
There are also 65 people including officials, doctors, physiotherapists, press methodologists and trainers, making a total of 211 in the delegation.
Fencing is the sport that brings the most athletes to these games with 15, followed by Beach Soccer and wrestling with 12, Athletics with 11, Swimming and Shooting 10, Surfing, Gymnastics and Judo with 8, Bowling, Boxing, Cycling and Weightlifting Weightlifting with 6, Chess, Karate, Archery, Taekwondo, Volleyball with 4 and Equestrian, Tennis, Golf, Triathlon with 2 athletes.
