Professional baseball in Latin America is celebrating with the announcement made today in Panama for what will henceforth be called the “Series of the Americas,” an annual tournament that in its first edition will have the participation of 6 countries in the region, but will surely have new partners.
The first edition will take place in Managua, Nicaragua from January 23 to 31, 2025.
During the first general assembly of the Baseball Association of the Americas, ABAM, representatives of the baseball federations of Cuba, Nicaragua, Curacao and Argentina, as well as representatives of the professional leagues of Colombia and Panama, will discuss and approve the regulations and statutes that will govern the organization from now on.
Present at the first official meeting of ABAM were Carlos Lee, president of Probeis; Nemesio Porras, president of the Nicaraguan Baseball Federation; Pedro Salcedo, president of the Colombian Professional Baseball League; Luis Daniel Del Risco, head of rules and arbitration and treasurer of the Cuban Baseball Federation; Jedrek Magdalena, president of the Curacao Baseball Federation; and Roberto Braccini, president of the Argentine Baseball Federation.
During the ABAM general assembly, the new board of directors that will govern the institution for the next 3 years was also chosen, in which Panamanian David Salayandía was chosen as the president of the organization.

This Saturday, ABAM will announce the venues for the Americas Series for the years 2026 and 2027.
