Panama will host the World Forum of Logistics Cities and Platforms

Panama will host the 7th version of the World Forum of Logistics Cities and Platforms to be held on October 18, 19 and 20, 2022 in the capital city under the theme “Green Logistics and Artificial Intelligence in Supply Chain Management”. The organization of the event will be in charge of the Logistics Business Center (COEL) in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP).

The World Forum of Logistics Cities and Platforms is oriented towards a sustainable culture and will bring together business representatives from various Latin American countries and Spain. According to the organizers, the focus of the event will be the promotion of strategies to strengthen the adoption of the development of sustainable networks and the efficient use of artificial intelligence within the supply chain of cities, as well as the generation of new investments. inclusive to manage logistics in the post-Covid-19 pandemic era. .

The Logistics Business Center (COEL) signed a cooperation agreement with the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIYAP) for the promotion and marketing of the event in which cycles of conferences, panels with experts, networking activities and workshops, with the participation of more than 40 specialists from nations such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States, Mexico, Panama and Spain.

According to the president of the CCIAP, Jose Ramón Icaza, this agreement with COEL is relevant to position Panama as the most important logistics platform in the region, due to its privileged geographical position and the conglomerate developed around it.

He stressed that for 40 years the CCIAP has responded to the needs of a changing market by organizing international events such as EXPOCOMER, EXPO LOGISTICA PANAMA, EXPO FRANQUICIAS and EXPO INTERNATIONAL TOURISM, as well as seminars, trade missions, conferences and national and international events of importance to the commercial development of the country.

Alberto López Tom, said at a press conference that the development of Panama cannot take place in competition with other countries in the region where they try to take business away from each other. He affirmed that the region must begin to think as a logistics area and that the Forum will serve for the discussion of regional strategies.

According to spokesmen for the logistics sector, Panama has good growth prospects. The country heads the list of countries with the best prospects in Central America and, according to the World Bank, a growth of 5% is projected for next year.
