A total of 4,076 accumulated cases of malaria are registered in the country, according to the latest report issued by the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health.


The authorities revealed that 1,513 have been reported in the Guna Yala region, Panama East 904, Darién 824, Ngäbe Buglé 510, Panama North 160, Panama Metro 66, Panama West 41 cases, Bocas del Toro 20, Chiriquí 20, San Miguelito. 7, Veraguas 7, Los Santos 3, Cocle 1.


Actions against malaria


After the report of these cases, the Minsa said that it reinforced the actions of prevention and health promotion to the population with respect to the measures to eliminate malaria, especially in the regions with the highest number of cases and the active search is maintained. thereof.


At the same time, the diagnosis, treatment, investigation and response (DTIR) strategy is maintained so that patients can be treated in a timely manner.
