Ten new cases of monkeypox were reported by the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), during the week of March 1 to 8, bringing the number of accumulated cases throughout the country to 177.
They highlighted that of the 177 accumulated cases, 25 are active cases (20 in home isolation and 5 in isolation in health facilities), while 152 ended their isolation, without major setbacks.
The accumulated cases have resulted positive 175 men and 2 women; and the distribution of cases, remain in the age range between 19 to 59 years.
In addition, they break down that the corregimientos with the most confirmed cases are: Bella Vista with 22 cases; San Francisco 18 cases; La Exposición or Calidonia 11 cases; Bethania with 9 cases; Tocumen with 8; Río Abajo and Juan Díaz with 7 cases; Parque Lefevre, Chilibre, Arnulfo Arias Madrid and Vista Alegre with 5 cases; Ancón, Barrio Colón, Pedregal, Pacora and Belisario Porras with 4 cases; Las Cumbres, Las Palmitas, Playa Leona, Pueblo Nuevo and December 24 with 3 confirmed cases, to date.
For its part, the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) reports that, until March 6, 527 doses of the monkeypox vaccine have been applied, with 493 first doses and 34 second doses.
