Ana Piedra, one of the organizers of the Pan-American Dairy Congress, in an interview with Radio Panama, said that this type of event is an important window for the national dairy industry. This event, which has been taking place since August 28 and ends on Friday, August 30, brings together leaders and authorities responsible for public policies to discuss crucial issues and share knowledge about the future of dairy production.
The first day of the congress is focused on exploring crucial topics such as Industry 4.0, sustainable dairy production, good livestock practices and technology applied to climate change. An enriched agenda of activities and conferences will address the most relevant topics for the sector, allowing for the exploration of technological innovations and best practices in the dairy industry.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in automation and digitalisation, as well as explore strategies for sustainable milk production adapted to climate change.
On the second day, the meeting will focus on the current situation of the screwworm in the region, digital health traceability and maximizing profitability through strategic nutrition of dairy cattle. Topics such as the use of biomarkers in nutrition and production will also be addressed.
The third and final day of the conference will be dedicated to the analysis of trade agreements and their impact on the dairy sector, as well as policies in international bodies. This approach will allow for a deeper understanding of how global and regional regulations influence the dairy industry. One of the highlights of the conference will be the inclusion of technical tours that will offer attendees the opportunity to visit milk processing plants and farms. These visits will allow participants to observe first-hand practices and technologies in action, encouraging a practical exchange of knowledge.
