The second batch has arrived with 72,000 doses of the bivalent vaccine, from the pharmaceutical
Pfizer, which will serve to continue with the vaccination strategy developed by Operation Panavac-19.
According to the head of the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) of the Ministry of Health (MINSA), Itzel de Hewitt, currently “the strategy is in phase 1 and 1b, which are simultaneously vaccinating health officials (in centers, police centers, health and hospitals) and also to groups such as members of the National Police, firefighters and members of Sinaproc; and simultaneously, inclusive vaccination will begin for the population over 60 years of age in captivity, bedridden patients, nursing homes, homes and hospitals; also to the disabled”.
He said that the acquisition of 1.7 million doses is scheduled with Pfizer, adding that 150,000 have been received so far, so you have to be patient, since they will be placed in all groups.
In order to receive this vaccine, the person must have two doses of the monovalent vaccine against the virus, wait two months and then a single dose of this new vaccine must be received.
Hewitt urged parents to take advantage of the fact that it is summer time and school vacations to take their children to the health centers and complete the vaccination scheme, especially for Covid-19.
The distribution of this new lot will be carried out in the 15 Health Regions nationwide, prioritizing areas of difficult access.
