LIMA, Peru – The National Customs Authority (ANA) of Panama reported this weekend on a case of retention of undeclared money from Havana. This is a Cuban traveler who had about $10,100 seized at the Tocumen International Airport.
The ANA made the information public via Facebookdetailing that during routine checks, the traveler omitted information in the traveler’s Affidavit, so a secondary review was applied, where the money was located inside the luggage.
The Traveler Affidavit allows the ANA to control and supervise the movement of goods, people and means of transportation across the borders, ports and airports of Panama.
“As the procedure establishes, the case was brought to the attention of the Public Ministry to begin the corresponding process,” the publication states.
