Panama closes the last 24 hours without deaths from Covid-19 but with more than 400 new cases

Without deaths, but with 487 new cases of Covid-19, it was how the epidemiological report of the last 24 hours of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) closed. With this new record, Panama accumulates 770,463 confirmed cases. As for deaths, there is a cumulative of 8,180 deaths and a lethality of 1.1%.

The recovered amount to 759,150 people, of which 195 were added as newly recovered. 6,132 tests were applied for a positivity of 7.9%.

There are 3,133 active cases in the country, of which 3,066 are in home isolation and 67 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 3,048 at home and 18 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 57 in the Ward and 10 in the ICU.

Regarding vaccination, he highlighted that the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) has applied a total of 8,015,822 doses of vaccines against Covid-19; of which 3,455,441 they have been applied in the first dose; 3,056,567 second dose and 1,489,046 booster dose to the population over 16 years of age.

In children between 5 and 11 years have been applied 381,808 dose; 265,054 of them in the first dose; 116,746 in second and 8 backup. The coverage of this population reaches 51.4% with a first dose and 44.8% with a second dose.
