Panama becomes the host of the international folk meeting

This cultural event is organized by the “Asociación Quiero Amanecer” and this year is supported, once again, by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura).

According to its organizers, there will be various locations in West Panama and Central Panama where the delegations will offer a show full of dance, Folklore and Culture, which will be complemented by a craft fair and a gastronomic trail typical of the participating countries.

According to Oliver Coronado, president of the “Quiero Amanecer” association, this event is important because, not only is it a great cultural exchange of traditions, music, costumes, but it also represents an economic injection for the places where they are presented. and an opportunity for local artisans to create imported products.

For her part, Emma Gómez, coordinator of Intangible Cultural Heritage of MiCultura praised the work of the members of the Quiero Amanecer Association for resuming the organization of this meeting that represents that firmness of keeping that heritage alive and all the folkloric expressions.

He added that the actions carried out through the coordination of Intangible Cultural Heritage are aimed at safeguarding and training, so that the essence of the customs and traditions of the country’s heritage is not distorted.
