Panama can no longer bear the migratory crisis that exploded after the United States announced that it would not allow irregular Venezuelan migrants to enter its territory, faced with this situation, hundreds of migrants have been stranded in Panama, for which the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo, said that “we are a country with limited resources” even so the transfer of these people to Venezuela is coordinated.
Panama can no longer do it alone, so Cortizo asked for support from the United States (USA) to face this crisis.
Cortizo met with Timothy Michael Kaine, Senator from Virginia, United States, and Adriano Espaillat Rodríguez, with whom he discussed bilateral issues on irregular migratory flow, domain forfeiture, economic issues and the Alliance for Development in Democracy.
Cortizo explained that this year alone, 206,000 migrants have passed through Darién, 170,000 of them Venezuelans.
