Panama and Vietnam explore establishing commercial cooperation agreements

With a view to coordinating commercial cooperation agreements, the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI), Juan Carlos Sosa, and the Vietnamese Ambassador, based in Mexico, HE Nguyen Hoanh Nam, recently held a meeting, in which strategies were proposed to strengthen the bilateral relationship.

Panama and Vietnam have common interests in terms of logistics, special economic areas, exports and, especially, on the subject of medicines.

In this sense, Vice Minister Sosa applauded the possibility of the Vietnamese government establishing a trade office in Panama.

During the meeting, the deputy minister of the MICI also highlighted the role of Panama as a distribution hub for the Americas, among other benefits that could be used by Vietnamese companies that wish to expand their business in the continent.

Also participating in the meeting were the General Director of Investor Services of the MICI, Daniel Yau; the adviser of the Superior Office, Frank Rodríguez; the Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Vietnam in Mexico, Luu Van Khang; and the administrative attache, Thanh Pham Xuan.
