Panama accumulates 160 cases of monkeypox, only two are women

With the confirmation of 21 new cases of monkeypox, the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reports that Panama raises the number of accumulated cases throughout the country to 160.

The new cases were detected during the week of February 15-24.

The authorities highlighted that of the 160 accumulated cases, 28 patients are active cases (20 in home isolation and 8 in isolation in health facilities), while 132 ended their isolation, without major setbacks.

Broken down that 158 ​​of the positives are men and only 2 women. They also indicated that the distribution of cases remains in the age range between 19 and 59 years.
