Unlike other years, in which together with deputies from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the defunct Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) the opposition bloc presented its budget proposals, now the PAN presented its counterproposal alone.
Although “the ruling majority refuses to listen,” said the national leader of the blue and white, Jorge Romero, the PAN will insist on viable proposals.
“Don’t let them tell us that this alternative project is naive, because it literally represents a change of 4.4% of the budget, which is less compared to the 46% of the population that did not vote for Morena,” mentioned the leader. .
The PAN legislators asked for reductions to the amounts proposed by President Claudia Sheinbaum to finance the Mayan Train, IPAB-Fobaproa, Petróleos Mexicanos and the Dos Bocas Refinery.
In addition, they suggested modifying economic projections, such as the price of a barrel of oil.
Romero Herrera insisted that all the programs and promises that are not written in the government projects are “pure lies,” which is why the PAN, he stressed, proposes allocating resources to them.
In addition, the coordinator of the PAN Parliamentary Group, Noemí Luna Ayala, defended the expansion of spending in the health sector, among others, and denounced that millions of children are not covered by the vaccination scheme, since Morena prefers to allocate these resources to works such as the Mayan Train.
Deputy Héctor Saúl Téllez, vice coordinator of the economic area of the bench, detailed the areas that they propose to cut.
“The Mayan Train is a bottomless barrel. It is a work that is practically 3.5 times beyond what the Government originally projected for its construction, and from there we are going to cut 50% of what was planned for the year 2025. This would give us an additional pocket of 20,000 million pesos,” he said.
“We propose 0 pesos for the IPAB and Fobaproa for the year 2025 (…) that movement would represent a purse of around 52,400 million pesos.”
Regarding Pemex, he said that 1.3 trillion pesos have been invested in it, which is why he suggested a 10.8% cut to the amount projected for 2025 to obtain at least 50,000 million pesos.
