Opposition mayors like Santiago Taboada, from Benito Juárez; Sandra Cuevas, from Cuauhtémoc; Lía Limón, from Álvaro Obregón and Mauricio Tabe, from Miguel Hidalgo, presented themselves in solidarity with the PAN deputy.
Taboada, who has emerged as one of the candidates to compete for the head of government, questioned that the former director of the Metro, Florencia Serranía, was not called to testify for the collapse of Line 12, but investigation folders are open against opposition politicians.
“I already have three investigation folders, Lía too, Sandra… here we are. But how is Florencia (Serranía) doing? Scholarship at Conacyt. (…) 26 people died and not a single arrest warrant, that is the size of how vulgar this government and this prosecutor’s office are,” he pointed out.
Santiago Creel, president of the Board of Directors in the Chamber of Deputies, pointed out that the purpose of the accusations is to weaken the PAN towards the 2024 elections, compared to the results of 2021 where the opposition won nine of 16 mayors.
“I have come to do it because of the injustice that Morena has committed to her allies, the president (Andrés Manuel) López Obrador and Claudia Sheinbaum want to win us over the railing of the Prosecutor’s Office what they have not been able to win us at the polls,” he said.
Federico Döring, local deputy, celebrated a first amparo won by Von Roehrich’s defense to unfreeze their bank accounts.
“Not even six hours have passed and these useless people have already lost their first protection,” he said.
