PAN ends alliances with the PRI; “no acronym will come before it,” says Romero

The new openness policy includes citizen participation in decision-making about candidacies and in primary elections to define candidates for public office. Activists, civil organizations and interested citizens may participate in these processes.

We call on all of society: let it be the one to decide. We will have quantitative and qualitative surveys, always seeking the opinion of the citizens.

Jorge Romero, national leader of the PAN.

Among the attendees were former PAN leaders, governors, deputies, senators and mayors, as well as special guests such as Guadalupe Acosta Naranjo, former leader of the PRD; the former PRI member Enrique de la Madrid, and the activist Claudio X. González, who assured that the opposition must be strengthened heading into the next elections.

“In 2027 it is essential to remove Morena’s qualified majority in the Chamber of Deputies, and it is essential to remove them from the National Palace,” said González.

At the end of the event, the militants marched from the Monument to the Revolution to the Angel of Independence, along the central lanes of Paseo de la Reforma, where they held a rally to reaffirm their commitment to citizen opening and the reconstruction of the PAN as a national political force.
