PAN asks AMLO to offer certainty to investments during the North American Leaders Summit

A few hours before the start of the X Summit of North American Leadersthe national leader of the BREADMarko Cortés, asked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to take advantage of the meeting with his counterpart from the United States, Joe Bidenand the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, to generate confidence about foreign investments to generate more sources of employment in our country.

The party leader said that the summit, which will take place from January 9 to 11 at the National Palace, is one more opportunity for President López Obrador to reflect that our country’s domestic policy has implications at the international level. “We hope that the President does not waste the meetings as he did on previous occasions,” he said.

Cortés Mendoza recalled that during this summit there will be negotiations with the United States and Canada, the most important trading partners for Mexico. “We have the most important trade agreement for our country, but unfortunately the bad decisions of President López Obrador have open panels for controversy in energy matters,” he said.

This is one of the governments and six-year terms where our foreign policy has fallen to the lowest levels, so the president must correct his 70s positions and his bad decisions, because they have caused Mexico problems that will undoubtedly be reflected in this Summit. such as the uncertainty in investments in energy matters and all the environmental policy of this government that is going backwards, such as the construction of the Dos Bocas refinery and the Mayan Train,” he said.

The PAN member stated that the most important challenge at the summit will be for the Mexican government to offer security and respect for the rule of law, “so that in this way jobs are generated, companies that want to invest in Mexico are guaranteed that the established rules previously they will be fulfilled and that they will not have problems with organized crime”.

Cortés considered that President López Obrador must offer his counterparts guarantees of a security strategy that complies with international standards, since cooperation in this matter is essential to achieve the arrest of drug trafficking leaders, mainly in Mexico and the United States.

“We acknowledge the Armed Forces, who arrested Ovidio Guzmán for the second time. However, we hope that at the end of Biden’s visit, AMLO does not decide to release him a second time,” said the PAN leader.

Marko Cortés spoke in favor of López Obrador asserting mutual respect between nations, and stop intervening in the political crises of other countries such as Bolivia and Peru.
