MADRID, Spain.- Cuban boxer Dainier Peró arrived in Miami, United States, in recent days. The news was confirmed by his brother, also a boxer Leinier Peró, who already has a career in professional boxing.
“Happy to receive my brother in the United States. His face cannot express more happiness. It is a new career stage for him. Thank God for so much”, said Leinier Peró through Facebook.
As considered The New Herald, the guidance of his older brother “will be essential for the youngest of the brothers” on his way to professionalism.
The New Herald He specified that Dainier will be represented by manager Jesse Rodríguez, who has represented renowned athletes such as Yuriorkis Gamboa and young promises such as Yoelvis Gómez and Ariel Pérez de la Torre; and he will be coached by coach Bob Santos.
According to Rodríguez’s statements, “he will put him to fight as soon as possible because he comes with great amateur experience.”
“Of course, like everyone who comes from Cuba, we have to help him make a change, to make certain adjustments that allow him to succeed.”
Dainier Peró was a gold medalist at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, and competed for Cuba at the Tokyo 2020 Games, where he lost the bronze match against American Richard Torrez Jr.
During the last year several boxers have left Cuba, among them Billy Rodríguez, who arrived in the United States last August after having stayed in Mexico after his pro debut.
While in June Andy Cruz, Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion, left the Island for the Dominican Republic.
For their part, in March Kevin Brown and Herich Ruiz left the national delegation during the Continental Championship held in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Herich Ruiz, bronze in the 2021 Boxing World Cup, left the tournament shortly after the weigh-in for his fight against the American Arjan Iseni, with whom he would seek a place in the final.
For his part, Kevin Brown did not arrive at the competition, but took advantage of a stopover at the Tocumen airport, Panama, to separate from the team.
