Palmeiras will decide the Women’s Super Cup title at home against Corinthians, on February 7th (a Saturday). The field command for the final in a single game was defined this Friday (16) through a draw at the CBF headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro. The duel will put the main forces of women’s football in 2025 face to face.
On one side will be Palestrinas, champions of the Brazilian Cup, and on the other Brabas, seven-time champions of Series A1 of the Brazilian women’s football championship. The match will take place from 4pm (Brasília time), at Arena Barueri, a location chosen due to maintenance work at Allianz Parque, in the capital of São Paulo.
Due to the ban in São Paulo on the presence of two fans in football classics, only the Alviverde fans will be able to attend the stadium. It will be quite a support for the Palestinians, who are seeking an unprecedented Super Cup title.
“We are coming off great results. We know that it is a very complex game, we respect our opponent a lot, but we are prepared and we know that we are fully capable of seeking this first title”, said Alberto Simão, executive director of football at Palmeiras, who was present at the draw.
The Corinthians team, three times Supercup champions (2022, 2023 and 2024), dreams of maintaining hegemony. Last year, Brabas were runners-up, after losing to São Paulo on penalties. Before the decision at Arena Barueri, Brabas will compete in the Women’s Club World Cup, in London, starting on January 28th.
“The expectations are very positive. Being at this pace of competitions is also important, it is something that really motivates the squad”, guaranteed Iris Sesso, director of women’s football at Timão.
