“My reaction to the proposal was like the first time, the first invitation from Palmeiras, a few years ago. If I’m not mistaken, this was the club’s third or fourth attempt. And I have always been very helpful and grateful for this recognition. It’s a huge club in Brazil and the world and I know how much this shirt weighs. I am very happy to now be able to represent this club that has so much history”, declared Paulinho.
The striker is Palmeiras’ second reinforcement for the FIFA Super World Cup, following the agreement with Uruguayan center forward Facundo Torres, who was at Orlando City (United States). “The Super World Cup competition certainly weighed heavily on my decision. Palmeiras is a huge club and being in a competition that will be the biggest in the world between clubs, with the wonderful project that Palmeiras has, caught my attention and I’m happy to be part of it. I accepted, of course, not only for the World Cup, but also for the Libertadores, the Brasileiro, the Copa do Brasil, the Paulista, for all the championships that Palmeiras always enters to win”, concluded the player.
