Palmaflor was reunited with the home victory after five games without being able to do it, between the Tigo League and the series tournament. This Friday night, at the start of date 18 of the round-robin tournament, they beat Real Santa Cruz 1-0, in a match played at the Bicentenario stadium in Villa Tunari, Cochabamba.
The first half was distracted, with interesting passages, with both teams generating some scoring situations. The team from Santa Cruz played equally to the local and came dangerously with the Colombians Guillermo Denis Beltrán and Efmamj González.
The owners of the house also gave work to the goalkeeper Gustavo Claros, with Gilbert Álvarez as spearhead, who was the one who asked the defense of Real Santa Cruz the most.
In addition time there was more emotion. The albos missed the opening with a header from González and in the next action came from Palmaflor’s goal through Gilbert Álvarez (45’+2).
The striker from Santa Cruz found himself at the far post with a ball poorly cleared by the visiting defense and did nothing more than inflate the nets. Palmaflor scored a local goal again after five games without being able to do so, between the tournament all against all and the series.
In the complementary stage Real Santa Cruz sought equality and had chances to beat Mauricio Adorno’s goal, but he failed in the final stitch and that would cost him dearly, because Palamaflor was left with the victory by the slightest difference.
Miguel Ábrigo and Claudio Rodríguez, coaches of the Santa Cruz team, proposed an offensive match that sought to win the duel, but the local knew how to take advantage of an oversight defensive and added the three units.
With that result, Palmaflor rose from tenth to seventh place, with 22 points. He got three units from his rival on duty who is in the sixth box with 25 points.
He was the referee of the match José Jordan, from Chuquisaca.
