Santo Domingo.-With the celebration of Palm Sunday, the commemorations of the Easter weeka tradition in which most Christian churches remember the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem.
Palm Sunday’s party is told by the authors of the canonical gospel and all agree that the Son of God, mounted in a burrito, was received in Jerusalem by a crowd that carried branches of Palma and that cried out “Hosanna!, Hosanna! Blessed the one that comes in the name of the Lord”.
This holiday is based on fundamental citations of the Gospels. According to Mateo’s stories (21,1-11), Marcos (11,1-10), Lucas (19,28-40) and John (12,12-19), Jesus entered Jerusalem mounted on a donkey.

In most churches the Palm Sunday It is celebrated with the blessing and distribution of palm branches or other native trees, which represent the palm branches that the crowd spread in front of the Christ while he entered Jerusalem.
Most likely, due to the difficulty of obtaining the palm branches, in some regions these have been replaced by bouquets of native trees, including olive, sauce and others.
Many churches of the main Christian confessions, including orthodox, Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Anglican, Morava and Reformed traditions, distribute palm branches to their congregations during their liturgies of the Palm Sunday.
Christians take these palms, often blessed by the clergy, to their homes, where they hang them next to Christian art, especially crosses and crucifixes, or keep them in their Bible or devotionaries.
In evangelical stories, Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem takes place a week before his resurrection. Only John’s Gospel shows a chronology of the event, dated six days before Easter.
Lázaro’s resurrection is only mentioned by the John’s Gospelin the previous chapter. The Orthodox Church and the Eastern Catholic churches that follow the Byzantine rite, commemorate it on Saturday of Lázaro, following the text of the Gospel. In fact, the dates of the Jewish calendar begin to set the sun on the previous night, and conclude at dusk.
