With popular prices, worth R$ 30 (full price) and R$ 15 (half price), the first circuit of the Dança em Trânsito Festival will occupy, from the next 10th, Espaço Tápias, in Barra da Tijuca, west zone of Rio de Janeiro, with the Palco Carioca project. Dance companies and groups will perform on weekends from February to April, always at 8 pm, offering shows for adults and children, as well as theater for children.
Festival Dança em Trânsito has been bringing together artistic presentations, education, training, reflection and exchange between groups from different cities in Brazil and the world for 20 years. It takes place in circuits, which enables exchanges of experiences between invited national and international artists, in addition to encouraging the development of dance languages.
Renato Vieira Cia de Dança opens the season of the first Palco Carioca circuit with Study number one, on the 10th, 11th, 18th and 19th of February, followed by Grupo Tápias presenting Casa de Abelha, on the 25th and 26th.
Continuity
The project will continue in March, with presentations by Cia Híbrida/Renato Cruz – Dança Fragile (4th and 5th); Renata Costa and Samuel Frare – Oxygen balloon for amorous dives (11 and 12); Paula Águas, Toni Rodrigues and Betina Guelman – Six proposals for silence (18 and 19); Bruno Cezário – Triz (25 and 26). On the 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th of March, the Núcleo de Arte Ofício – Teatro Infantil presents the show Nem sim, nem não.
In April, Marcia Milhazes Cia de Dança performs on the 1st and 2nd with the show Paz e Amor, followed by Cia Étnica de Dança/Carmem Luz with the show Sankofa (8th and 9th), Laso Cia de Dança/ Carlos Laerte ( 15th and 16th), Esther Weitzman Cia de Dança with the show What I imagine about death (22nd and 23rd) and Regina Miranda, Atores&Bailarinos with the show Naitsu – Noites com Murakami (29th and 30th). The kids will also have space on the Palco Carioca in April, with Grupo Tápias, on the 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23rd, with the show Creme do Céu.
During the year 2023, Festival Dança em Trânsito will travel to around 33 Brazilian cities and one foreign city. The project will select Brazilian artists and companies from north to south of the country to compose the cities’ programming, in addition to receiving foreign artists and companies.
In partnership with Dança em Trânsito, the maintenance classes project for dance professionals remains, which takes place free of charge on Fridays at Espaço Tápias, from 1 pm to 2:30 pm, with artists from Rio de Janeiro. Classes are open to dance and performing arts professionals.
Tapias Space
Espaço Tápias was inaugurated on April 30 of last year with the purpose of transforming lives, giving opportunities and fulfilling dreams. The place offers rooms for classes and a specific space for shows and other meetings involving art, which is the Sala Maria Thereza Tápias. The organization promotes dance, focusing on contemporary art and its segments.
