Palacio does not report where Abinader is

Palacio no informa dónde está Abinader

Santo Domingo.- The country does not know if the president Louis Abinader remains in the United States or if he returned after fulfilling his commitment at the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles.

At 6:00 in the afternoon, the Communications Directorate of the Presidency had not reported whether Abinader returned or not.

Journalists who covered the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles said that after his participation, the head of state left.

When asked Homero Figueroa, government spokesman, about the president’s arrival in the country, he said that “Jorgito” (Jorge Taveras) would send a note to the media in due course.

Last Friday, the Dominican president participated in the Second Plenary Session of Heads of State and Government. On the afternoon of that day, the president spoke at the “Round Table of Leaders, Heads of State and Government” with civil society, the private sector and youth representatives, as well as a meeting on Democratic Governance against Corruption.

He met with the Haitian Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, and the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as well as with other leaders and heads of government, were held within the framework of the plenary sessions of the event.
