Let us remember that the Minister of the Interior, Izkia Sichesgave this Tuesday an ultimatum to the truckers who maintain strikes in different parts of the country, setting 4:00 p.m. as the deadline for them to leave the roads.

“I want to reiterate: our government has always been available for dialogue, and despite the fact that we have established a partnership with the most important unions of carriers and truckers, there are currently some that have defined, before the talks, paralyzing and cutting off the routes of our country,” said the Secretary of State.

“This is affecting the citizenry, it is putting the people of our country at risk. That is why, as the Ministry of the Interior and as the government of Chile, we want to give a deadline until 4:00 p.m. today to release the highways of our country and allow free transit and restore security for people,” added the Minister of the Interior.

When asked about the government’s ultimatum, Galaz commented that “he had no idea” about the announcement, and proceeded to show the agreement signed by the Maipo provincial delegate, Miguel Angel Rojasthe SEREMI of Public Works, Jorge Dazaand the transport seremi, Robert Santa Cruz.
