The Minister of People’s Power for Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, and his Colombian counterpart, Iván Velásquez Gómez, held a telephone conversation where they agreed on an upcoming meeting to discuss issues of bilateral interest.
The information was released by the also sectoral vice president of Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, through his Twitter account, @vladimirpadrino, who stressed that the meeting will address transcendental issues for the events and well-being of both countries.
“I have had a pleasant conversation with Dr. Iván Velásquez @Ivan_Velasquez_, Minister of Defense of Colombia, and we have agreed to meet very soon to discuss vital issues for the future and well-being of our peoples. Is the time!”.
As a result of the arrival of Gustavo Petro to the presidency of Colombia, relations between his government and that of the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, have been restored, thus recognizing his investiture, reports the State channel.
